Luo Han Guo

Luo han guo is a type of fruit from a plant called Siraitia grosvenorii. It was plant mostly in Guangxi province, China.

It is popularly known as an alternative Chinese medicine for cough and sore throat. It gives sweet taste but is a natural sweetness compared to white sugar.

This luo han guo drinks can be sweet and drink without worries of obesity because it is natural sweetness. The fruit will be dried up before it was used to cook as luo han guo drinks. It is also a famous dessert drinks that served in many Chinese restaurants. It can be purchase in any Chinese/Asian supermarket and keep it dry.


1 luo han guo (rinse with water)

6 dry longan

5 tsp brown sugar to taste

6 cups water

Let me show you how luo han guo looks like, it is just like a ball and light.


1. Boil the water in a pot. Once the water boiling, add in the luo han guo.

2. Immediately turn to low heat and let it boil for 20 minutes.

3. Then, add in the dry longan and boil for another 10 minutes.

4. You may now add in the brown sugar to taste. The amount of sugar is up to individual preference. You may choose the type of sugar you love to add too.
